I made the cover art for it which is also pretty cool. In fact, I've made the art for his past 3 singles and a 4th coming out this summer. A fun creative collaboration that's come out of art school so far!
Yesterday I ran for the first time in 2 years. The last time I tried, it was absolutely awful. I was 25 pounds heavier. It was just awful. My back, my knees, my lungs. Oof.
Yesterday's was not so awful. Surprising in fact.
I've been on a health journey the past couple years after gaining 40, yes 40 pounds during the pandemic. Whew. That's scary to type and share out loud.
Back in the not so distant day I was a runner. While I didn't identify as a capital R Runner, I ran many miles and races between 2007-2020.
What made yesterday's run different than the awful one in 2023 and last good ones in 2020 — it wasn't about anything other than doing it. Simply seeing if I could. Not even proving to myself that I could, just attempting to and seeing how it went.
I'm realizing as I type that simply doing it without pressure was the exact same effort behind The Culture Club Founders launch two weeks ago.
I've launched many things since 2018— a whole-ass business, programs, retreats, new services, workshops — many of each.
Those launches had goals, and pressure to succeed.
The Culture Club Founders' launch in May was pressure-free.
If 5 people joined, great. If this launch generated $2,500, cool.
The goal was to open the doors, invite people to walk through them and see what happened. It was just time. Time to be in community again. Time to grow alongside like-minded, heart-centered people again. Time to do what I do best — create transformative experiences.
No pressure though.
29 people joined. This launch generated nearly $11,000 in 5 days.
Yesterday I put my sneakers on, walked out my door, started Runkeeper and started running, without pressure.
I ran 1 mile. Without stopping, or even really struggling.
My offering to you on this Tuesday morning is to try.
Try something you've been wanting to try, even if you're pretty sure it will go badly.
Try something that has gone badly before.
Try something you've been thinking about, but holding back on.
Speaking up?
Going for a run?
Asking for something that you want?
Launching a new service or program?
Do the messy version. Be okay with it going how it goes. Then let me know so I can celebrate your effort (the hardest part).
p.p.p.s. I'm in search of an opportunity to consult on a project in need of clarity, focus and action. I'm a heart-centered strategist and facilitator who's worked with these teams and people.
"Thank you— you’re an amazing facilitator! Definitely feels like forward-motion, momentum-building."
My request: Share my name or email me if you have a project in mind!
